If you’re an shopaholic, why wait for specific festive sales to enjoy special discounts? To extend the joy of cashbacks with every purchase, Amazon India has announced a new credit card in partnership with ICICI Bank to offer you 5% cashback on each an every purchase on the e-commerce site.

The card is being offered by ICICI bank in collaboration with Visa and Amazon Pay with a lifetime usage period and no hassles of annual renewal fees. This cashback will be credited to your Amazon Pay wallet, so it can also be seen as an attempt by the e-commerce giant to increase the user base of its payments service.

If you’re an Amazon Prime user, each transaction using this card will earn you 5% discount on each purchase on the platform, except in the case of gift cards, e-book, and other bill payments or recharges using Amazon Pay. In that case, the discount will be limited to 2%. If you’re not a Prime user, you’ll get only 3% discount on your purchases while the discount on e-books and bill payments will remain 2%.

Besides this, Amazon has tied up with more than a hundred partners like Yatra, BookMyShow, Swiggy, Airtel, Dominos etc. to offer 2% cashback on each purchase. Additionally, you will also get a 1% surcharge waiver on all fuel-related purchases. The card can also be used elsewhere too, but you wouldn’t get any discount or cashback unless in case mentioned explicitly.

All of these savings are credited into your Amazon Pay balance at the end of each billing cycle. Currently, the application process is limited to certain users, most likely those who have used an ICICI card or net banking for a purchase on the e-commerce platform in the past.

You can check your eligibility by going to this page and click on “Apply Now”. Amazon says that after initiating the process, a digital version of the card will be generated within 3 minutes while the physical card will be delivered to your address in 7 days.
