Xiaomi’s Redmi series has reigned supreme in the entry-level segment of India for quite some time, but Asus is now planning to shake things up with the launch of the ZenFone Max (M1). It’s riding on the success of the ZenFone Max Pro (M1) by launching an entry-level variant of the same.

Price and Availability

The ZenFone Max, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, has been priced at Rs 7,499, which means it will be butting heads with Xiaomi’s Redmi 6 and Realme C1. It comes in two color variants, namely Black and Gold, and go on sale during Flipkart’s Festive Dhamaka Days next month.

ZenFone Max (M1): Key Specs

If you didn’t already know, the ZenFone Max (M1) was first shown off at MWC earlier in 2018 and it is now that Asus has decided to finally bring it to Indian shores.

Speaking of the specs, ZenFone Max (M1) features a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS LCD display that’s packed in a polycarbonate body with a metallic finish and it feels quite good to the touch. There’s a fingerprint sensor at the center on the back here and it’s decently fast so that’s a plus over the ZenFone Lite (L1).

ZenFone Max is powered by the Snapdragon 430 processor, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Asus has included a larger 4,000mAh battery pack on this device to stay true to its “Max” moniker.

On the optics front, ZenFone Max sports the same 13MP (f/2.0) rear camera as the Lite variant but bumps up the front camera to 8MP (f/2.2) that comes in handy for Face Unlock. You get Android 8.0 Oreo-based ZenUI 5.0, along with a triple-SIM and microSD card tray on both phones.

All of the usual connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/n, Bluetooth v4.0, A-GPS, GLONASS, microUSB charging port and 3.5mm headphone jack. To sum it all up, here’s a quick rundown of the ZenFone Max (M1) specs sheet:
